The gibbon series are being updated with bamboo cabinets.
The gibbon 88 was introduced at RMAF 2011 as a replacement for the gibbon SUPER 8, featuring a solid bamboo cabinet and un updated driver. Also in attendance was the new Orangutan 0/96 speaker. A nice blog write-up (with pictures) about the DeVore/LM Audio room can be read here.

The new driver is a 7” paper-cone, coupled to a more powerful motor system. The speaker’s cabinet is slightly larger than that of the Super 8, and is made from solid bamboo. DeVore says the result is “more bass power and slam, greater weight, and increased dynamic scale” without any compromise to the Super 8’s delicacy or musicality.
