If you check around, you'll
find there are plenty of Devore owners as well as the press,
that just love these speakers. The Devore Super 8's are the
best small - medium room floorstander that we have found. The
sound is completely transparent and neutral, incredibly open
and clear, musical, detailed, the Devores make music fun. At
90db they are efficient and with the minimum 7.4 Ohm
load, they are a breeze for any amplifier to drive. Twenty watts
per channel can fill the room and our preference for amplifiers
with the Devore Super 8's is the Mastersound Due Venti EL 34
SET tube amp. The Devores pefectly show off the abilities of
this zero negative feedback amplifier and the match between
the two is clearly synergistic. The cabinets are top quality,
heriloom quality in fact, and some of the best cabinetry work
at any price. The high quality Cardas binding posts are top
notch. The speakers are set up for single set of speaker cables,
no bi wiring. The cost savings on speaker cables allows the
user to invest the cable budget in to a better quality single
run of speaker cables, resulting in even better performance.
The adjustable floor spikes are the best quality we have seen
at this price point. The super 8's are the complete package.
